from a different angle. I actually want to induce galvanic corrosion. I have a keel aluminum fuel tank which need to be removed. I don't even want to discuss my attempts to cut it out, but its on my blog for anyone with time to spare (click on "tanks" under Labels).

My questions' are; is it feasible to induce galvanic corrosion in strips in the tank, e.g. using copper strip and an electrical current. The bilge/tank could be filled with sea water. If so, how long would it take to eat enough of the tank wall in order to permit it to be pried apart using hand tools.

Only those with actual pertinent experience and/or advanced electronic/electrical degrees need respond. Usual fee schedule will apply;).

Thanks
