Thinking about getting the boat to Grenada and flying in from time to time as a good year round base south (mostly) of the hurricane zone. Any recommendations of where I might rent a slip to leave it if I were to do so?

If I say Port Louis Marina you will come back and say "Hey I mean on a TIGHT budget!"
If I tell you a cheaper place thats 3/4 hour bus ride from town, except weekends when there is no bus, you will get pissed off at me too...

So, all in all, I decline to answer

Port Louis Marina. Great location, great marina, great transport, supermarket over the toad (i didnt say a great dupermarket...). Fine for the hurricane season or any time of year. Swimming pool.

Alternative and should be a considerable saving Secret Harbour Marina, Grenada W.I.

Long term favorite with liveaboard cruisers, excellent social scene, friendly staff inexpensive on site bar with food, shopping bus hits the major stores twice a week.

Downside as Mark says it is a 20 minute walk or dinghy ride to get the bus to town.

Of the two I prefer Secret.

It might be a better idea to check into leaving the boat in dry storage instead. I'm sure it would be much cheaper as there are a very limited number of slips available in Grenada. You could call ahead and have the boat launched and awaiting your arrival, at someplace like Spice Island Marine, only a few minutes from the airport and buses to town.
However, I would also check out Jolly Harbor on Antigua as it's a nice little, pretty safe marina and possibly cheaper than down here. They could also do the dry storage there. It really depends on where you'd rather sail when you are down this way.
