Looking for those must do dining opportunities near the water. Does not need to be on the water but must be close, with easy access from the water. Hopefully without an expensive slip fee required. We're on a budget!
Lets keep focused mostly on the food. There are plenty of waterfront establishments but not many that offer really good dining experiences. And moderate budgets will help too!

List the location, the cuisine, what is special about the place, boater access, price range

I'll start with the Burger and Beer Joint in Miami Beach. 2 blocks from the police dock where you can tie your dinghy.
$15 for burger and fries. But no way close to any burger and fries you've likely had.
The burger is PRIME Angus beef. Not choice, a big step up. And you can get anything on it. Sauteed onions? Sauteed mushrooms? Brie? Blue cheese? Gorgonzola? Bacon? Anything!
Fries? Not just fries, duck fat french fries!
By far the best burger and best fries I've ever had. Excellent.
Waiter came by and asked how I liked my beer. "OK". "Just OK?" Yea. He grabbed my half drunk bottle and asked what I would prefer. That;s service! A must do joint.

Must be a lot of very thin sailors out there!
No, it's just that eating ashore sux.

Wickford, RI - Tavern by the Sea - the food is OK, but it is right across from the public dock.
