I always wondered why my hand operated bilge pump didn't pump water. It was on the list. Today was a nice day, well it was nice until I opened up the pump. As I pulled the rubber bellows off the aluminum body white dust fell to the ground. Didn't give it much thought. I got the bellows off and looked inside.
The rubber rebuild kit is $45 or so and I need that metal square piece which is another $45 or so. $90 or so later the pump might work. The boat has never been off the trailer which means the pump has never had salt water in it. If its this bad just from fresh water and air moisture I can't imagine what it will be like after salt water sits in it for a year.

So here is the question. The whale gusher Titan is made from a space age polymer plastic but does it fit the gusher 10 mk 3 mounting holes? And are there any problems with the Titan? And does anyone want to buy one corroded gusher 10 Mk 3?

It's not bad design, it's the materials used. The Whale 10 & 25 are very good performing pumps but being made from cast aluminium means you have to watch out for corrosion. They are so easy to service that popping them apart once a year shouldn't be a problem.

The biggest problem I found with them is that the soft plastic the flappers are made from will harden if any hot water hits it - then they lose flexibility and won't seal.
