Prolly will be the new norm before long, but they are not appealing at all to my eyes. I prefer the look of a traditionally rigged schooner any day..
I am not a fan of an unstayed mast either. While standing rigging may be a pain to maintain, check and costs more money. I would much rather have it than not, especially when dealing with exotic material such as carbon fiber.
With that said, obviously these are technologically advanced and probably have better sailing ability than most rigs of years past but I am not in a rush to go anywhere. I throw up the sails and sit back to relax and enjoy the ride.
