I''ve encountered a nasty hardened gunk(like hardened petroleum jelly)in my aluminun heat exchanger, apparently from not flushing the system often enough, or the type of antifreeze(the green stuff). Since the antifreeze mixture passes through cast iron, cast aluminum, and bronze, the ions must be having a field day. Does anyone recommend a coolant/ antifreeze that will be stable?
