Brrrr - it's cold out there!

I just got this boat last spring, so I'm very new to boat ownership.

My boat has a Toyoset vented cabin heater (NS-2700-1). I tried it out last spring and it worked. However - now it doesn't!

When I first turn it on, the power light flashes (which supposedly means that the overheat protector is activated). A few minutes later, when it tries to ignite, the flame light also flashes. According to the manual, this either means that there is an igniter malfunction, or that the power voltage is too high. My money is on the igniter malfunction.

I do not have any clue where to start to diagnose the problem. The manual gives no help.

Has anyone here ever had such a problem, or any ideas what I can try to diagnose the problem?

Thanks for the reply. I called them, but they said that they don't work on those units, and didn't think that any shop in Seattle works on them.

Are Toyoset cabin heaters rare?

I case you haven't done so, I did a quick search and found this web site:
http://www.toyotomiusa.com/products/cabinboatheaters/NS-2700-2.php

The Distributors menu notes that the closest dealers near you are in Alaska & California. I suggest you try contacting one of them for service facilities. Otherwise, try downloading the pdf manuals (manuals menu) for more DIY info.
