I sailed out of Barker's Island in Superior, WI last year. Haven't splashed this year as probably moving for work.

Just returned from a long weekend to Houghton (crew got arrested,posted bail)then to dreamland(lives up to the name), lac' labelle, manitou island and home to Pequamming. Isle rule is next for ten days as crew on s/v peregrine in a couple weeks.

YES! There are other Lk Superior sailors out here ... just too busy putting boats away for the season (Sigh!) & now looking forward to spring.

Which part of the lake are you on?

Fortunately our group here in Duluth is working on some sail-related activities for the winter in a pathetic effort to keep our spirits up and/or maintain our sanity... will post more when we've got the details organized.

i sail out of pequamming between huron and keweenaw bays on my c-27. and have started sailing with George aboard his nonsuch 30, peregrine. you may have seen this boat before as he logs 2000 nm a season on the lake. check out eagleharborweb dot net.

Hi I have a question, I was up in superior in my tanzer 26 (SOO-Whitefish-grand marais-Quebec harbor) I wore long johns in the middle of July on the sunniest day.
Is it ever actually warm up there?

There was one day last August that was quite warm.

I woke up to 36 degrees one morning last June here in Duluth, soon after I moved here from Seattle. You can't really think in terms of "does it get warm..." A more positive spin is "it never gets too hot."

I sailed superior twice, across from Sault st Marie to Thunder bay and back across the following season heading for the Atlantic, completed the lake in 59 hours straight across. it was an amazing trip i did it this past summer to raise awareness for organ donation and Cystic Fibrosis.
