What do I need for this mission:

A. Im guessing propane tank and locker w/ solenoid valve and shut off switch.
B. New stove.

Anything else?

Also, the CNG tank is currently stored in the rear lazarrette. If I keep the propane locker in there, do I need to put some sort of thru hull fitting at the bottom to drain any propane leaks?

Boat is a 27 catalina ('87)

A. yes, and with some sort of drain to air at it's lowest point, make sure that drain is not underwater
B. Maybe, or you may be able to rejet. Else new. Unless the current stove is in good repair, it is likely cheaper to replace it with a propane one.

You may be able to sell the old CNG cylinder to those of us who still use CNG...

Or you can do what some Catalina's do. They have a sealed plastic locker that fits in the lazarette or cockpit locker and is vented via a hose to a through hull above the waterline. This does meet the standards but you end up with a rather small tank.

Some cruisers mount there tanks out on the transom, not the best looking setup but its prob. the cheapest. West marine has LP lockers in there catalog.
