Just joined. I've been doing beer racing (year round) in the Boston area for ~15 years or so on other folk's boats. Same with local cruising - though no cruising in the winter.

I am currently looking for my own boat (used, approx 36') to purchase between now and say March 2015 to cruise.

Wow - a Catalina owner...I've been looking at the 36 mk II - there are a few around. Seems like a decent cruising boat and one I could live aboard. My experience has mostly been in smaller boats - J24s, Solings, a J29, etc. Nothing as fancy as anything with an autopilot - but to cruise I get it. Still having to get used to the idea that for cruising there may be more important things than speed and pointing.

I've even been thinking of wing keels ?!?!?!?
