I started sailing several years ago when I bought a 23' north american spirit in panama city florida, in good shape except it didnt have standing rigging, and since this was pre internet it was difficult to find any information about the boat so I finally made some adjusters out of aluminum and put the mast up with ski rope to get the dimensions(yeah yeah there might be better ways but I was new) so I sailed that boat for a while then brought it home(in alabama) to redo the interior(sound familiar?) anyway I got it all torn out and got busy at work...quit smoking and started jogging to lose the weight I gained since food was so good....time passed and my wife and I separated..anyway I finally sold the boat...more time passed...a friend got a 14' catalina from his father in law and wanted me to go sailing with him..got the bug again.. I found an oday daysailer that had been sitting in one place for at least twelve years..bought it from a lawyer and started sailing again...now I am about four or five years from retirement and I am thinking about getting a boat to spend some time on the water in....I forgot to mention the hobie cat I had for a while..but it was so uncomfortable I really want to forget that..anyway I had to get some posts in to be able to ask for help with the remote boat check assistance so this is one of um....I am glad to be here....gerald
