Hubby and I are working extensively on the yacht to go cruising again. The last stint in the Caribbean lasted us 10 years before we came back to sunny England. All we need from you sailors is a wee bit of support and advise (good or bad) while we get the yacht seaworthy. Wish us luck!

To answer your question Ron, "Meridian" is our third Yacht. The yacht we set off in was a 30" Westerly, which suited us well for 5 years. We took opportunity to fly to Los Angles where we bought another yacht (A Bristol) she was a wreck but we worked on her extensively and made enough profit when we sold her to buy the yacht we have now which is a Islander Freeport. We love the layout she and as a live aboard she is perfect.
We plan to leave England next Spring to go where the wind takes us. We do not plan on returning to England so we have a lot of sorting out to achieve before next spring.

To-Do list
Hi, We are engaged to the to-do list and this will be a continual effort up to the place of arrival somewhere in the Caribbean we guess. We had much to fix with damp proofing as-well as major refits on all systems lots of outstanding things to do on our continually growing to do list. We have one major concern and that is the Engine, 33 MD 17 D volvo penta. t was completely stripped and machined, old for new, last year. However its dated, give out tons of noise and problems on a weekly basis. The original engine was a 4108 Perkins, This was just replaced before we got the boat, to the volvo that we have now. The engine is below the water line lending itself to many added problems, Any idea has to what would be a more suitable replacement Engine?
