Well I guess I should have done this a number of posts before. I have been reading and learning all last summer.

I have been a power boater since childhood. Owned a powerboat on the Chesapeake for several years. Last year I thought I better learn how to tie a knot so I took up learning to sail. I have my 101 and 103 courses down now and look forward to a great summer sailing on the bay.

I was hoping to be shopping for a boat this season but the whole sailing thing threw a wrench in that idea in so much as not being a life long sailor we don't know what we want or need in a sailboat. So we deceided to give the whole fractional sharing sailing thing a go for a year and see what we think of sailing and get more experience.

Bring on the boat show!!

Just the Baltimore boat show. It's the best show fix I can find locally. I thought that. There was going to be a Strictly Sail in Philly this year but that seems to have fallen through afaik this year.

Coming from York, PA. you must be sailing/boating out of HarveDeGrace or North East/Elkton area.. I do a lot of Rock Fishing at the Susquahanna Flats area.
I'm thinking of selling my power for sail also.

Havre de Grace - Tidewater is where we have this summer planned. I don't look forward to the 5 mi run down past the flats to the head of the bay, that is my only concern, you can only tack back and forth so much at the mouth of the river... reminds me of European Family Vacation.. Look kids Perryville... Look kids the lighthouse.... Look kids Perryville.... I feel for the tug captains that ply that channel day in and out.. Dealing with that traffic in a 200' wide channel with the flats right next to it...

Given the dismal sales I am fearful that the Baltimore show will be a bit of a let down over last year even. It costs money to get the boats there, man up, etc.... I don't know, but I gotta go for a boat fix!!!!

HMMM well just went to the website and found the exhibitor listings... Slim pickings if I am to believe the layout and looks like at best Island Packet looks to have the space for boats..
