I'm Fred, wannabe sailor on my way to becoming a Helmsman and later a Yachtmaster.

I live in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I sail the Río de la Plata (Silver River), record-holding body of water for most sunk ships per square mile. Average depth of around 14 feet. Sea-like in more ways than one.

Learned to sail in the Nahuel Huapi Lake (tiger's island lake) in the Argentinian Patagonia, and have sailed in Mexico, Key West and Anne Marie Is, FL.

Hoping to learn from people who actually know what they're doing and don't play it by ear. =P

A round of grog all around!

hi, brand new to sailnet myself! Welcome from NH!
Welcome to both of you. This is a great forum as you may already know. Lots of very knowledgeable sailors here. Lots of lively discussions, and just a great bunch of folks.:)

Fred, tell us about the fish in your picture. Or are you playing 'fish guitar?':D
Thank you all for your welcomes!

That's a rainbow trout i caught last summer in Green Lake, Patagonia, on a fishing trip with my old man, brother and 2 cousins. The awkward position is due to holding the rod under an armpit and balancing crouched on a floating swim platform =)

I'd love to play fish guitar but unfortunately i don't know how to tune the damn things =P

Your trip sounds exotic!

Easy to tune. Just get together with someone else whose fish is already in tune and tune it to sound like his.:laugher
