Hi All,
My 36 year old boat was made with things like wire nuts for the electrical system (I kid you not), and copper tubing for the hot water system. I'm seeing places where I suspect the hot water copper tubing will fail at some point. The green corrosion in a couple places has obviously taken it's toll on the OD of the tube. I know there is the hot water PE hose (I think I said that correct), the "red" stuff (blue is cold). But here's the deal: the water from the 180 degree engine running temp makes the water in the water heater WAY hot. Even though I installed a mixing valve and have the cold turned all the way on, the water coming out is still maybe too hot for that kind of hose?
What do you all have on your boats (that have a water heater that is electric and engine water heated)? Ever had problems? Thanks.
Dave
