Just sitting here wondering how many P-30's are still on the water. Let's see some pics of these good old boats! Here's mine, Midnight Mist, 1972 hull #292. Second year on the water after being in dry dock for 16 yrs. 029.jpg

Great idea Midnight Mist! Beautiful boat BTW

My old lady is still sailing and enjoying her golden years in sunny San Diego.

Her name is Vacilando, 1974 hull 603.

Any other Pearson 30 owners in SD?

Hull #22 here, recently acquired, and (hopefully) soon to be re-launched after several years (decade + ?) on the hard. I'm in CNY (Cayuga Lake).

Good luck Perkwise. There's always hope for these good old boats. Mine was on the hard for 16 yrs. Second season on the water with her and she does very well. Give a shout if you need advice. This sight was helpful in some of my decision making. Also if you have an Universal Atomic 4 motor, check out the Moyer Marine site.

MM-

Love the gray non-skid. Very classy.

I can tell you that the P30 fleet on the Chesapeake is alive and well. The P30 racing class was quite vibrant until it fell apart around 2001 or so. Costs drove people to downsize to smaller boats where it's cheaper to buy expensive go-fast parts like laminate sails, and you can get by with much fewer crew.

There are at least 4 P30's in the West/Rhode River environs.
At least one in the South River.
2 on the Severn River at EYC.
1 on the Magothy River, that races. Heyday took 2nd place in last year's Gov Cup.
1 in Baltimore Harbor.

Those are only the ones I know of. There are more, I'm sure.

Thanks Bubblehead, my wife actually picked the deck color. She's actually been working right along side me with this restoration. Nice to know there are some still on the water, so many rotting away in marinas and backyards. Wish I had the resources to restore more of them. GW and hope your enjoying the season.

I'm docked at Boat World Marina on the Maurice River in Leesburg. Let me know what day you'll be around the Cape. If i'm not working mabe we can get together. That's one trip I'm gonna make, mabe next year. Boat will be better equipped. Have a good and safe trip. If you run into trouble in the Delaware bay or river you can give me a call. If you want E-mail me at [email protected] and I can give you a number for emergency (or beer run!). GW

Looks like you have a lot of work into it already. Restored mine after sitting for 16 yrs. Still remodeling the interior now. Had some of same issues you have with rot. Stick with it, it'll be worth it when it's done.

The Goose is gorgeous.

There are quite a few P30's out there, but many of them are languishing. Take lots of pictures while you can, folks.

Well here goes. First Pearson Gin 1974 and Second Pearson Topaz 1973, . Will get serial no's when I can. Third Pearson Rebellion 1976 is in water at Guntersville lake. Will get picture soon. All of them are in Pearson pictures when you search internet. I plan on rebuilding all of them. Winter time in Alabama is a good time to do rebuild. I wanted a new Pearson 30 when I was young so I will have 3 now. My wife can sell them later. Engines are Yanmar 2GM20, Farymann 18W and a New Westerbeke 11A ONE Farymann. The rack is for interior and hull. The trailer is for motor and rudder plus moving boats.

That all folks.

Glad the site is here.

Second Wind circa 2003. I believe she went to the Chesapeake after we sold her a couple years later, but no idea after that.

I have hull 812. We keep her on Cayuga Lake in New York. She has been all around the Long Island Sound, Gulf of Mexico and Florida Keys. More recently, Lake Ontario. Now back home in the Ithaca area.
