I'm just getting back into sailing and just found your site, which looks like a good one. I'll look around more as I have time, but I have a couple of questions for starters.

Are there many/any small boat sailors here--like Sunfish, etc?

A few years back I had a Dolphin for my kids and now that I have grandkids I've been looking for another one, more out of sentiment than anything. This would be the small Dolphins, about 14 feet.

I understand the Dolphin is no longer being built, but if I found a good used one or new or nearly new that might have been stored and not used, what might I expect to pay?

Also, are there any other recommendations on a better choice?

Thanks.

We were all sailing dingy drivers at one point, and sometimes we stay that way ;) like me.

My personal preference is for the Capri 14.2, but it's hardly a great place to start. I still think the best learning boat is a laser. Pico for smaller kids/girls, and regular laser as they get bigger (mid teens).

Fast, mostly forgiving, and all the necessary sail controls to learn more than just the basics.
