For those with a sailing website or blog I know how much work goes into setting it up, keeping it fresh and up to date.
Once we have written about our sailing exploits it is difficult to get them read or advice about what we are doing right or wrong.
I have created a facebook group specifically for those people with a current sailing blog or website.
The intention is to help each other produce better websites and blogs.
So if you need help or can help with websites, blogs, writing, SEO or how to get your blogs seen pop along, join and participate in the discussions.
The only entry qualification is that you have a current blog or website.
Hopefully between us we will be able to improve the sailing blog and make them better reading for everyone else.
the group is

By discussing things we will all learn. I spent the last month trying to learn a bit about SEO. I had never even heard of it before. I applied some of what I learn't and as a result I have moved up 5 million places in googles rankings. It just goes to show how badly I was doing things before.

The site below has a ton of help for blogs and web sites. Timethief is a long time helper in the WordPress.com help forum - but the tips work for any blog or web site. The link is to the getting started and best tips page.

One of the most common errors that travel sites have is having tons of large pictures that make the home page slow loading, search engines don't like slow loading, there are several ways to deal with pictures, optimizing pictures for the web and for sites that have a "Read More" function to just show part of a Post or Article on the front page.
