OK all you Columbia experts, here is one for you. The early Mk I Columbia 29s had ballast of around 3120 lbs. and then they switched in the "late" Mk I and Mk II to 4100. My question is how can you tell whether the 29 you are looking at is the heavy or light version? By year? Hull number? Interior layout? As far as I can tell they added 1000 lbs of lead around 1966, maybe 65. I also wonder if S and S signed off on this or if Glas Laminates just did it to stiffen them up. I used to have a 24 and I am looking into a 29 and I'd prefer to find the light model. Thanks all!
