We recently purchased a Wellington 47 sailboat and are looking for information from other Wellington sailboat owners on their boat's rigging specifications - specifically, the orientation of the chainplates on the lower sidestays of the main mast. Please reply to us via SailNet. Thanks ! "Lucky Escape" (Juli)

Hi Lucky Escape,

Are you still around or have you shoved off? We are looking at another Wellington in Jacksonville. How do you like yours? I understand that they were all semi-custom. Was it finished at the factory or completed by someone else? Is yours the keel/centerboard version?

I hope all is well and you have some great voyages.

Sorry about the delayed reply. We currently have our Wellington 47 in Boston. Great boat - was custom finished at the factory. The boat is a fantastic liveaboard although sails a little slow. Had a centerboard, which has really come in handy for both ICW and Atlantic sailing - but need to ensure that the wire is regularly replaced.
