Hello there, My name is ilhan Demir. I am from Turkey. I had been based in Marmaris the southwest of Turkey since 1990.

I had worked in charter operations until 1999. A short while with local companies but mostly with foreign worldwide sailing holidays companies in nearly every stage.
I found my Company in the year 2000 and started working on my own providing technical services to private yachts. When I had closed the business down in 2011, we had 7 workshops with a team of over 40 people working for us.

Services provided were; all kinds of hull work - re-plating on metal hulls, including blasting, doing osmosis treatment on GFRP hulls, detailing and reconditioning gelcoat surfaces, overhauling or respraying paints in very high standards, re-decking, interior furniture and joinery work, Maintenance or production of stainless steel work, Maintenance or replacement of spar work, Maintaining or replacing standing or running rigs, Maintaining or replacing any deck hardware, Maintaining or overhauling outboards and diesel main engines and generator engines, Doing electrical works. Nearly every thing accept electronics...

With in the period of 11 years we had served over 1000 boats from nearly all around the world varying from 30 to 140 feet.

I have been on waters since I remember my self and I do have over 250.000 miles of sea-life.

I very much feel that I am a part of the sailing and boating world. Since I am not in trade any more I thought I can join the sailnet.com site and perhaps be out at help to any sailor with my experience if needed.

Kind Regards

Ilhan Demir
