Hello,
I'm looking for someone with a Montgomery 15 to see if I can enjoy the experience of single handling and care of a small sailboat with the convenience of home storage. I have no experience but would like to meet someone in the Gulf Coast area. I live on the North Shore of Lake Pontchartrain and would appreciate someone to introduce me to sailing.

Glenn Welcome to Sailnet! Sailing is not hard to learn. Most anyone can get out there and sail with little actual instruction by just reading the basics or watching some youtube instructional videos. I SH my Oday up to about 15 mph winds. Knowing one's limitations has allot to do with the type of sailing you pursue also.

If you're up in my neck of the woods I can take you for a sail! Oh wait, Lake Superior is still frozen... can you wait a few months for the water to thaw out?

If you have a local yacht club and can find out when the local beer can races are, you can almost always find a ride.

Well, I don't have a boat of my own but I do teach, though on the south shore, for a local broker who is also an ASA teaching facility.

Not sure that helps... Best way to just get a "ride" would be to hang around the NOYC docks early on wednesday evenings (beer can race) or Southern YC on Friday evenings (Flying Scots). They are typically looking for crew.

North Shore? I dinna ken, laddie...
