Waiting for an update from the OP. In the meantime I just looked at a $700 22 Catalina. The first hint something was awry was the 2x4s in the interior of the bow wedged in to stop the deck from bowing in. It did have a motor and tiller though.
I went to look at the boat but he said he didn't have the title and we'd have to go to the dmv and get a replacement.
The boat was caught in hurricane Katrina so as you may imagine the trailer was all rusted and the keel was rusted beyond repair. The seller said it just sat in that water for days.
I ended up buying an 18ft hobie cat instead with a perfect trailer and boat in good condition for a grand.
