It seems that the O-Ring seal at my electric motor has degraded sufficiently to leak a bit. Unfortunately, Jabsco doesn't offer just this gasket, but includes it as part of a $100 maintenance kit. I'm not that experienced with fluid seals but have seen pretty complete O-Ring kits with all sorts of sizes and dimensions for sale at hardware stores before.
Is it worth trying to match this O-Ring from a kit or are there other considerations?
