We are looking at getting a main flaking system for our Catalina 30T, and were going to go with Lazy Jacks until I saw a website for Jiffy Jax...jiffyjax.com

I kind of like the idea of retractable jacks. Does anyone have any experience with these, pos or neg?

It works

I didn't notice the cost of that system, but if you are handy at all you can make one for yourself for about $75. I made one nearly identical to that, with the lines folding along the boom when not in use, and I love it. You can do a search on the net for something like "lazy jack installation" and you'll find all kinds of information on things that people have done that you can either copy or improve on. If you are not the handy type, and want to buy one, it is a great thing to have the lines fold along the boom.

I'd agree with Drynoc. I installed one system on my boat and it was relatively simple and has much the same capabilities as JiffyJax for less money. See my post about it here.
