Hell, freakin' HUNTER did that over a dozen years ago with the HC 50, which in many respects, was a very cool boat...

Amazing, how some of the features of Cornell's boat were anticipated by Hunter, from the anchor arrangement...

...to the cockpit watchstanding 'cubby'...

Ditch that stoopid arch, lower the boom to a sensible height, and you could have a pretty cool boat, too bad it never caught on...

Great boat. Looks expensive, and totally push-button, including electric winches, wow. Is he many times rich now? I'd say this boat costs upwards of 800K.

We would have been interested in this boat but for why in the name of god did they put twin rudders on an expedition boat. There is no protection on those two rudders how can you use it safely in ice?

There is no keel like on the Boreal center boarder with lead inside. This brings the weight of the boat down deeper and gives it a better stability number.

Also the boat has poor storage area for an expedition boat. There is no lazzerette to store your inflatable for a long passage you have to store on deck.

But the interior seems to be well done, very nice job and yes you can see over the cabin top.

Think Hannah2 made a better decision going with the Boreal. Only thing I didn't like about the boreal was the European galley. Hear that now you can rework that. Liked how the daggerboards would function going down wind on the boreal and the thought that went into the appendages. Still if I had money to burn Would get a K&M with a lift keel. Best interior design, built right, and beautiful without invoking the open boat industrial look.
A Bestevear 55ST would do me just fine.

I suspect the answer is to provide better steerage when gusts cause high heel angles. Aventura has done well in ice - see the videos on Jimmy's website. I'll ask him his thoughts on rudder protection if I remember.

Still if I had money to burn Would get a K&M with a lift keel.

Moody made some very nice hydraulic lifting keel boats.
