Hi all,
We were driving home from a sailing lesson and we came across a gorgeous S2 9.2a, 1980, beautiful condition. At $25,000, it is well above budget, but the price seems high anyway for the model and year. (Being sold through a broker.) Nice condition, though, some equipment, wind measuring equipment, no GPS. Sails in good shape, etc. actually, here is the link:

Bruce Hill Yacht Sales, Inc. (Shelburne, VT)

How is this boat for newer sailors? Does it handle well? Just for lakes on calm days or island cruising capability when we get more experienced?

We are torn between getting a boat to practice on and learn to sail fast, like a J22, and a cruiser-type boat. We went on a Pacific Seacraft sunset cruise the other night, and my husband fell in love! Can't afford a Seacraft, but he liked the mellow, laid back style of sailing. Me, I like to go fast!

Thanks for any insight ino the boat,
Nancy

Thank you for all of your advice. I contacted the Pearson person, just trying to figure out when I can get down there. And we may look at the S2, thinking about $$.
