I am new to the world of sailing. Been something of a dream since I was a kid but finally got to the point in my life I can start. Have really enjoyed my time on the water so far and it is obvious this is going to be a bit more than a hobby for me. Late in the season for me to start here in MN but, already looking forward to spring and heading to the great lakes later in the summer.

Check out some local clubs and see if they do frostbite races. Some of them go pretty late into the year. Glad to have you, welcome.

Welcome to Sailnet... zz has a good point - it's always possible to get rides at clubs that have fall/winter race programs - and if you turn up regularly your dedication will be obvious.

If there is such activity near you, no need to wait for spring!
