We own a 1989 Feeling 286 Special. This model has the engine fitted amidships and we are presently considering how to go about checking the keelbolts.

Does anyone out there have any ideas/tips how to go about this? Are they fitted underneath the engine and if so - how do you get at them?

I don't have any experience of this boat (it does look good in the pictures in the "for sale" ads, though) and so can't offer detailed advice. However, it rather sounds like a situation where you just have to get in there with a torch and see what you can find! In normal circumstances, the keel bolts should be fairly obvious once you locate them. Does the engine access also allow you to see into the bilge and under the engine? I guess you are hoping that you don't have to lift the engine to get at the bolts.....

Happy searching.......
