You may find it easier to use the various pre-finished plywoods available for boat floors. Ours is striped teak & holly which is quite common. Look at a few floors in other boats - just like looking at open-houses for project ideas. If you decide to do the "walls" up the sides of the hull be sure you leave air gap. Ours is teak firring strips suspended horizontally on the ribs. You may also want to consider insulation depending on your cruising plans.
