I've always heard about the annual gathering of classic yachts, but this year I find I'll be in the area about that time. Can anyone suggest where I can find out more? Everything I can find is in French.

1. Is it crazy crowded or will I be able to get a room within an hour's drive of the harbor?
2. Can a regular person get near the boats, or do you need special passes to get close to the action?
3. Are the races close enough to shore to be interesting, or are they out quite a ways?
4. Anybody in these forums been there? Good or bad experiences to report?
