I moved your thread from the "boat buyers and sellers forum" because that forum has some membership requirements that you don't meet yet. Hopefully you'll get the exposure you're looking for here (plus I did leave behind a "redirect" link.)
just some advice, if you want to buy your dream boat, don't worry about whether the seller is motivated...that perspective gets one looking for a bargain...apparent bargains usually turn out to be anything but a dream.
If you want a dream boat, don't go looking for a bargain, find a boat that fits your dream and pay what is necessary to be the new owner... and the dream is more likely to be fulfilled.
Do not throw out other brands such as Jeanneau, Hunter, Dehler, Dufour, bavaria, Tartan, C&C............. many of these brands have models that may work well for your needs too.
In the Jeanneau brand, there are a lot of SO37 models around, along with the smaller newer and slightly faster SO35. Or the newest model 36i. If you go older, sunshine 36 to the SO34.2 and 36.2. All would make good boats there in the area you are wanting to sail and cruise.
Look at lots, figure out the floorplan you like, and away you go!
Just curious as to why you're limiting yourself to Catalina and Beneteau? There are plenty of other brands out there that are just as good, or better. It would also help if you said what your rough budget is.
Try Sailing Specialties in Ct,Plenty of deals on your dream boat,Ask for Smitty and say hello from Nick.
