I have a 33'' Hans Christian (1982) in good condition. Sails need a little stitching here and there and she''s scuffed up a bit on her port side from a storm. I want to go cruising but feel I don''t have enough experience, though I have sailed her single-handed(some). I am looking for a man who really knows his stuff to partner up with me to do some cruising. Must have survivalist attitude. Charleton, SC

Lisa,
I am heading for the Caribbean in November to spend the winter. I just turned 50 this August and have been sailing and living on my 32.5 Irwin for three years now. Am from Colorado but live on my boat in Florida. I am retired but still own a couple of small stores in Colorado. Just took off three years ago to go sailing. I have been having a ball. Have met many wonderful people and have been to some wonderful places. Am an excellent mechanic, sailor, electrician, carpenter, fiberglass. Built my own home in Colorado and am a great person sail with. E mail me at [email protected] if you would like.

Hello Lisa,
Just sold my C&C33, and feel the NEED to cruise. Am extremely experienced: 45 years of sailing/racing/cruising/teaching. I''m 60, from NY, and would love the opportunity to get away for a cruise. Am retired, so ''moment''s notice'' works pretty well for me.
Let me know your thoughts.
Lou

Hi Lisa,

I''m currently cruising aboard my Alajuela 38 in Southeast Alaska. I''ll be settling her in to a marina for the winter and would entertain the idea of cruising somewhere warm for a few months. I have several thousand miles of cruising experience single-handed and would love an opportunity to sail with crew. If you are interested contact me at [email protected]

would be very interesting to know how that one turned out. I would have to go with "lisa was really a guy, or just a troll trying to see how many hard-dicks would come running"

in every avenue of life where men seem to be the norm, (sailing, motorcycling, mechanics etc) women who want to try and get into those areas, seldom need to post an online ad for help.

when I showed my better half how to ride a street bike. I left her alone for 15 minutes standing next to my bike so I could go get another bike to ride with her. within that time 6 men stopped (separately) to ask if she needed help. funny part is none of the men were on bikes, no doubt they simply wanted to give her a ride home I'm sure

Right on that. It didn't have that tone of desperation that most of them have.

So true, too. As long as we appear unskilled and needy, there always seems to be a hoard of eager teachers ;)

It would be great to know what happened with Leisa and if she's still cruising :captain:

Did the internet have "trolls" in 2000? I think most people were too worried about tying up their phone line with their AOL dial-up connection to waste time trolling on internet forums.
