Hi everyone,
I have just created a yahoo group under the name of GLOBE YACHTS, I am trying to find and get together owners of these wonderful double enders.
Garden designed the SEAL 37 in wood. In the late 70s and 80s they were made of glass in Taiwan under the GLOBE 38 name. My husband and I own one that was made by GOLD ISLAND YACHTS in Taiwan but is a Globe 38. She was a custom order. Still no idea why made in a different yard or how they used the Globe molds. Ours has different portlights and deck layout and is like a wood boat dropped into a glass hull. Even our deck beams are Teak. So we have a super weird one. Oh, and a LOT of rot to fix. We just rescued her from over 20 years of neglect in a boatyard about to cut her up.
If anyone knows anything about GLOBE, Gold Island boat building in Taiwan I would love to hear from you. If you own or know of one of these boats please contact me at SVPUFF on America online dot com , or join the yahoo group by typing in GLOBE YACHTS in the group search.
Thank you.
Capt. Andrea Bush.
