You''re not alone. Yngling was just made a new Olympic class, so lots of hot sailors are out trying to get one. (There haven''t been many around the U.S.) Sailing World''s April edition says Abbott (sp?) Boatworks, in Ontario has been made a licensed builder. (but that''s for a new one.) Have fun.
I am sailing a G22 which is a clone of a Yngling. Cockpit is rather narrow.
Great in heavy winds. plows through waves like a scooner. My version is set up for a 12v system running and anchor lights. competitive ynglings probaly don't have this. lots of lines and blocks to tune the rigging. If you live up
near wisconsin or Maine, there are a lot of fleets. the Yngling was just excused from the olympics, so there may be a glutt of these boats and sails on the market soon.
look at web site USYA Y's Up or United States Yngling Association.
You may want to look at a Lightning. Very competitive,
easier to get in and out of the water. Centerboard rather than a fixed keel.
However, more touchy in heavy wind.
