hmmm, with a screen name of martha I expected this to be from a lady. Not till the end I find it's from Allen. Allen does not specify whether the desired bunk mate needs to be of a particular sex. I'm confused.

As awkward as this is for me, and maybe you, maybe it will work. 3 couples (2 married in 50's, 1 single in 30's) and I are sailing the BVI the last week in January, 2009. We are captain and crew (I've done this before). I had a "bunk mate" when we chartered the boat back in December, 2007. Stuff happens, I am in a cabin by myself. I'm not looking for a lifetime partner, I'm looking for someone near my age to spend a week just having fun. Call it a fling, call it whatever you want. I call it two adults sailing in the Caribbean and having a good time. No ties, no commitments, no expectations. Not that a spark may develop. Even though the cabin is a single queen bed the week long relationship can be platonic, really. I've been around too long not to be honest about that. It will be about $2000 for the week (maybe less if I subsidize some of it) with airfare and everything else. We are spending 2 nights on St. Thomas before setting sail from BVI Tortolla, Road Town, on a 42 foot catamaran called the Marthar. I have a seat on American Airlines next to mine out of Chicago that can be purchased.

So, am I an ogre, I'll let you decide: Email me and I will sent you a complete profile with pictures.

So why now? My bunk mate, for reasons I am not going into here, dropped out of the picture. I am not a player so I have no one "in the wings". I thought I might entice a sailor/adventurer to take a shot. I'm a nice guy, I'm fun, my word is my bond, I'm a moderate with liberal leanings. I'm fit, in shape and expect the same.

This is for real. Life is too short to get hung up on "social norms". My name is Alan.

For those of you who think this is funny, please respect my postion.

Alan

Flying out of Chicago the last week of January 2009.
I seem to recall a meeting of very experienced AFOC's taking place at that same time.
Moderate with liberal leanings? Could this be Sway in drag

It would be easier to respect your opinion if you had posted this in the proper forum, specifically, the Crew Wanted forum....

Of course, it would probably help if this wasn't one of your first two posts... since you have no track record here of which to speak.

BTW, I'd highly recommend you read the POST in my signature before you continue posting.

P.S. Can't be SWAY, since it clearly says moderate...:)

Maybe he dresses in drag??? He's got a female username, and sounds rather conflicted... :)
Dear Martha,

I was just going to sign up until I read the last paragraph and you're an Alan!! And you want me to pay my way too?? Frankly, I'd decline even if you paid the whole shot.

Well, he was a powerboater posting on a SAILING FORUM.... trolling for the eternal quest for Sexy Hot Female Crew member that is smart enough to know how to do things, but dumb enough to volunteer to pay her way to Columbia, and get on a boat with a complete stranger for an unknown period of time...
