Does any one have a first hand recommendation for a Marine Surveyor in South East Wisconsin? I have looked at SAMS ( Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors ) website but would really like actual experience.

Thanks for the help

To become a member of SAMS or NAMS - National Association of Marine Surveyors - the individuals must meet certain criteria, pass a written exam, etc. So, some experience is required to get to that point - not a rock solid yard stick I agree, but better than naught - more often than not.

Ask around your local boatyards, engine shops, etc., whom they see coming and going on behalf of insurance companies or brokers. You can also get referrals from insurance companies, brokers or, from a boating organization, such as Boat/US. Ask friends who are boat owners whom they might recommend. When you finally make contact, get referrals and ask for a resume and sample report.

Good luck!

Joyce,

I did not, the deal did not progress to that point. Through my own research I found this guy. He was very responsive and is accredited through SAMS.

Good Luck

Paul
