Can someone tell me if it's OK to use GE silicone to seal the mast plate to the fiberglass. I'm not sure what it is called but it's a cast aluminum piece that the mast sits on when installed. The plate on my boat is secured with 4 1 1/2 inch lag bolts. I want to make sure no moisture leaks under it. Thanks

I would use Butyl tape instead... IMHO, silicone has very little place on a boat, outside of bedding deadlights and covering the ends of cotter pins.
