Not many well protected anchorages. Maybe you can find a place up Dog River. Mobile Bay is shallow averaging only about 12'. We have anchored around the island that is about mid bay and down at Navy Cove but both are exposed . If you leave the bay Ingrams Bayou is a good place to anchor off the ICW . Oyster bay looks good but is too shallow. That is the basic problem close to shore it is too shallow for most sailboats.
