For planners, budgeters, wannabes, and hecklers below is real amount spent in month 68 of living and cruising on my boat. Included in this month is a haul out and bottom painting and a week condo stay vacation.

  • General Living - Food, soda, alcohol, clothing, sundries, other - $ 965.50
  • Boat costs - upgrades, repairs, maintenance - $ 2,369.73 Haul out/launch, power wash, blocking, environmental fee $561.97. Sanding and bottom paint not including paint $850.50. Yard labor to remove and install cutlass bearing $295.63. Three nights in motel because of heat and paint fumes $277.52. Shaft coupling that I didn’t use and will return $143
  • Fuel (diesel, gas, propane) - $ 9.81
  • Dining and drinking out - $ 1,196.06. Week vacation plus more eating out while boat hauled out
  • Entertainment - $ 256.70
  • Communication, storage, shipping - $ 97.50
  • Fees - $ (70.28) money back on credit card
  • Marina - $ 357.51
  • Electric - $ 31.19
  • Medical - $ 31.19
  • Transportation and travel - $ 587.98. Gas to go on vacation and 2 tires for car
  • Boat Insurance - $ 83.08

Total for the month $6,104.95
