I have always loved the Morris Francis, the 26 footer designed by Chuck Paine, recently a Morris "Annie" came up for sale near me, Chuck's 29 footer.

I am going to look at it this weekend, anything I should know about it?

The Annie is one of my favorite Chuck Paine/tom Morris boats below 30 feet. She has more room below due to the transom hung rudder and is built like a tank.

I think Tom built about 15 or 16 of them (some were not finished by Morris however) so there are not a lot to choose from. Most, I think, are still here in Maine. The worst one I have seen was in NJ. Someone really let it go to pot, terribly sad, but it was a steal for an Annie. In good shape they still fetch 60 - 95K...

I has a Frances 26 for 23 years before selling it to move up to a Leigh 30.

My prior boat to the Frances? A Sea Sprite 23 (hull #539) :D

All are great boats. I love the early Morris boats and now sail a Justine. If the Annie is solid at all you can't go wrong in my experience.
