Is this the small 12 VDC gear drive motor that is in the wheel drive that you're looking for??

 

Yes, it is. It is about 1 3/8" in diameter and 2 1/4" long without the connector assembly. It has about a 20 tooth gear on the shaft that is about 1/2" in dia.

Unfortunately, I am quite familiar with the motor in question, and I just replaced on a recent delivery trip I did.

The only problem is that none of the vendors, other than Raymarine, seem to have the motor with the gear. All the OEM vendors I've seen the motor from have the motor with only a plain shaft.

Autohelm 3000 drive unit

Hi all,

Does anybody know whether one can rewire analog
Autohelm 3000 drive unit (round brain) to a later digital model of
Autohelm 3000 (square brain).
The older unit has 4 wires coming to it and the newer unit has 2
incoming wires.

Would appreciate any information from any brain.
