Not my boat, but this is my neck of the woods.

This is the Caledonian Canal, Scotland, heading SW, approaching Laggan Locks, with Loch Lochy in the distance....

On one lovely day in 2010, we stopped the motor and let her drift NE on bare poles at about 1/4 kt down this lovely tree-lined avenue. Her 11 tons just about held steerage.

Memories, memories.

We will go back this summer, again.

This is only about 35 miles along the canal and the major lochs from my boat. The canal company are helpful too. I need to count my blessings. This is a great place. Fresh water everywhere, so little corrodes, and there is no swell, well, apart on Loch Ness in a gale.
And we have sea at either end of the canal if you want to go out to salt water.
