From the charted route you posted, you were well inside the Gulf Stream, even inside most of the eddies. Looks like you were about 30 miles offshore at best, thus at least another 30 miles to the stream, which is just outside the canyon edges this time of year.

The boat looks great, and I'm glad you have a safe trip to Hampton.

Sometimes, there are some weird tidal currents that emit off the tops of those offshore lumps and humps, such as the Jack Spot, which is about 25 miles southeast of Ocean City, MD, and the Parking Lot, which is due east of Chincoteague, VA. It's a weird phenomena that I just never could find a good explanation for. I fished those areas a lot for decades, and those crazy currents were why the bluefin tuna stacked up there.
