Just here to learn some about a different world. Terminology seems like a foreign language in some cases. Learning or hope to.

Where in Texas? I have been sailing 30 some odd years and still don’t know all the terminology.

Welcome from another recent member. Read some books - the ASA books that go along with the courses (A101, 103, etc.) are good, and go sailing on other folks' boats and perhaps take some of the ASA courses.

Cheers,

A lot of the terminology is BS.

I cook in a kitchen not a galley. Sleep in a bedroom on a bed; and go to the bathroom in a bathroom.

Theres even an argument about Port and Starboard should just be left and right for new people.

Best idea is to just enjoy sailing. The weird words will come soon.
