Schnool, congrats on the new boat... sounds like you did a LOT better passing on the first boat! Please forgive the following thread drift...Congrats on the purchase! I had a 8.0 & sailed on a 7.9 in the next slip. I had to rebed stancions & deal with gel cracks at the bases. Mine had the OMC Saildrive. The 8.0 was a tank; 7.9 much faster. Good luck!
Summit.. would you be willing to elaborate on how you dealt with the gel cracks at your stanchion bases? I've got the same thing on my Pearson; the surface area is a molded non-skid pattern, and I can't figure out how to repair the cracks without significantly "uglifying" the area. Any tips would be much appreciated.
