Hello Ian, and welcome to SailNet! Sounds like you are having a great time with your boat. Exploring the coast will be quite an adventure from Calgary.

My name is Ian and I live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I own a 2008 West Wight Potter with trailer which I use to sail the local lakes. I hope to venture further to explore more lakes and potentially coastal waters in the future.
Cool, which one do you have, 15 or 19? I am looking for a small keel boat, just can't decide how small.

From one Canuck to another, welcome to SN. Although my boat is located on the east coast, I have family in Calgary, so get there quite often in the off-season. Have never sailed the area, but I know there are a number of Alberta-based sailors on SN, so hopefully a few will chime in.

Thank you Mike
My son lives in Halifax as he went to Dal and graduated last year. We also got out to PEI last June, gorgeous!! But he wants to move back west. Sailing here has it鈥檚 own challenges, like quickly changing wind (speed, direction, temperature). it鈥檚 not a 鈥渟et it and forget it鈥 place to sail. Apparently that is good for me 馃槑
