Hello.
I'm a 50 year old female who's really wanting to learn to sail and get a sailboat. I live in Orange, Texas. I had a 24' Pearson until Ike crushed it along with about 30-40 boats at the Pleasure Island Texas marina where it was moored. I'm on the Gulf of Mexico.
My goal is to sail around the world. But first, I'm taking my first sailing lessons next month when it starts to cool off.
I'm looking forward to meeting lots of people and making lots of friends.

Hi Angela, welcome, you dream big don't you? <*is there a "thumbs-up" emoticon?*> but starting from scratch as you are is doable - my husband had never been on a sailboat at all till he was 50, we're now fulltime liveaboards headed for the Bahamas this winter.

Thanks

Thanks to everyone for the welcomes.
Yes, I do dream big, I just hope I can make it come true someday.
To me, true happiness would be living aboard a sailboat that could cruise to anywhere at anytime (weather permitting of course, I'm not too crazy about hurricanes).
All of you live aboards, I really envy you, you don't know how lucky you are. :)
Well tomorrow's another day and hopefully I'm one day closer to my dream.

Ahoy!
Angela
