Newport-Bermuda Race 2010

I race my own boat, a Peterson 34, in the Gulf of Maine Ocean Racing Association series, and have done numerous offshore deliveries and cruises, including in conditions up to Force 8. I am seeking experience racing to Bermuda on a fully-crewed boat as part of preparing my boat and myself for a possible attempt at the Bermuda 1-2. My complete sailing resume is posted here: Tim Allen's Sailing Experience

The Notice of Race for the 2010 Newport Bermuda race has recently been published at Newport Bermuda Race 2010 > Home and I am still looking for a crew spot.

I will be getting Wilderness First Aid training, and renewing my CPR, later this month up at SOLO in Conway, NH. I attended a Safety-at-Sea seminar three years ago, but will likely do it again this spring, along with the ISAF-Hands-On training course offered by LRSE in Portsmouth, RI.

A brief description of my sailing experience is in the first post above, with full details here: Tim Allen's Sailing Experience

I am located in Keene, New Hampshire, which is about equidistant from all ports between Stamford, CT and Portland, ME -- so where-ever you are in New England, I can easily join you for boat preparation work, and training and on-the-water practice.

I may also be available to help with delivering the boat from Bermuda back to the east coast after the race.

If you're thinking about entering this race and are looking for crew, please contact me!

Thanks,

Tim Allen
