Hello everyone!

I'm sure many of you are familiar with SailFlow to monitor current winds and forecasts. I've been working with the new weather stations project team at WeatherFlow (They run iWindsurf, iKitesurf, SailFlow, WindAlert and FishWeather) to hopefully get a sensor installed at North Point State Park. That particular area has a gap in coverage for their meters.

We’ve set up an IAS (Install-A-Sensor) program for the North Point location. The way the IAS program works is that we strive to get at least 15 first-time, new annual Pro members in support of the proposed WeatherFlow sensor. (Though 15 new Pro memberships doesn’t cover the costs of the equipment and installation trip, we calculate that once the weather station is installed, others will also find the data valuable and will sign-up.) Once we reach that goal, we will work on our end to install at that location. The supporters for this IAS are NOT BILLED until the proposed weather station is installed. Hence, until then you may enjoy complimentary Pro member access. These stations are stand alone units with solar paneling and cell signal for 5 minute updates. If it is installed, we also maintain and operate the station.

We are looking at placing the meter on the jetty at North Point, or on a nearby daymark (these are not definite and might be subject to change).

To support and sign up for this initiative, please go to the sailflow homepage and add on "/northpoint". This should bring you to the signup page.

Also, it’s worth noting that there is only a 1 year commitment. So, if you sign up, you will get a FREE Pro membership until the sensor is installed, then you will be billed for a year, then you can cancel at any point after that. These things do take some time, so you’ll likely have the Free membership for a while before your paid year actually starts.
